Dents and dings

June 26, 2009

Tip of the Day
If you’ve been dinged, it is better to get it fixed right away. There is something called paintless dent fix. The professional mechanic will use special tools to bring back the original form of the the car. The secret is to get it done right away. The heat, cold and ordinary weather will start to harden the metal into its new design, especially if rust gets on the dent.

The advise today is

“The sooner the better”!

Feng Shui Car Detailing

May 9, 2009

Ellen Lewis sent us this great story to The Auto Spa Ltd. and we would like to share it with you. I’m will try some of these ideas. The car detailing I will leave up to Todd at The Auto Spa Ltd.
Ellen says:
You need to Feng Shui your car because you will be more relaxed and avoid that “STRESS” that everyone is talking about. Feng Shui is a very old Chinese process for bringing harmony to your life.

Energized Car

Energized Car

Step 1. The best Feng Shui tip for your car is its clutter. Keep your car clean inside, and outside. Remove clutter from the car: clutter ‘sucks the life force out of the driver’
Step 2. Keep your car windows clean: this allows chi energy to enter the car from outside. In Feng Shui, the windows are the eyes for the car
Step 3. Sprinkle sea salt crystals on the carpets of your car: they absorb passengers’ negative energy. They can be cleaned out regularly. The salt takes the negativity with them when thrown out. SALT deletes negative energy.
Step 4. Tie a small blue ribbon on the satellite navigation or the rear-view mirror: the colour blue is a representation of Water, the perfect driving state of mind: clear, thoughtful, flowing and clear. You can have a bottle of water in your car, It doe the same thing.
Step 5. If you have bought used car, ring a hand bells inside your car to purify the energy. Comment: This one I’m not sure about unless it scares the spiders away. I think some of these symbolic act may have started from practical purposes at one time. Why don’t you get your car “Feng Shui” car detailing done at the leader of car detailing at The Auto Spa Ltd.

Check your oil?

March 30, 2009

Need an Oil Change?

Need an Oil Change

Is it time to check your oil?
Remember when the gas station attendant used to ask you:- “Check your oil?” In the smaller towns in Ontario you might find a few gas station that have attendants. And, they might say “check your oil? They are getting scarcer every day. Today, you need to check your own oil. If your oil looks black like this picture, you need an oil change. Also; if you’ve been using a thinner oil for winter (i.e. 5W30) change back to 10W30 for warmer weather. But, make sure you stick to the manufacturer’s recommended oil type for your car! If you are looking for that same old fashioned care and service, come to “The Auto Spa Ltd.”, we will look after you right.

Are you thirsty for more?

Top up your car’s fluids!

Super Service

Super Service

What is the single best advice you can give to anyone about maintaining the life of your car? Your car is thirsty and needs to have oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, antifreeze and last but not least window washer fluid. About the window washer fluid; you can slip by that one. They others are deadly trouble. Without your fluids the metal contacts start to grind against each other and break down. Get familiar with your car. Find out where the dip sticks are located to check your fluids on a regular basis. The age of the car should dictate the frequency of checking your fluids. Your car will cooperate if you look after it. Don’t always depend on your towing service to rescue you.

Car tip: Ice free wipers

January 19, 2009

Have you noticed in the early winter mornings, you will see a few cars in their driveway with their windshield wipers standing straight up? You would be wise to follow the same example. When the snow freezes into ice and clamps on the rubber wipers of your car, like crazy glue, stuck right on your car’s windshield, you don’t want to hack away at them too much. You know what I mean. You try to clear the icy snow from your car quickly because it’s cold outside. Finally, you get in the car and drive. You don’t dare use your wipers because the wipers still have a bit of ice clumps clinging for dear life. You try to get the car warmed up, before you turn on the wipers. As the snow builds, you turn on the wipers and they start scraping at your windshield. The moral of the story is to lift your wipers straight up in the snowy winter days. It does not harm them. You can easily clear your car’s windshield and DRIVE!!!

Car Detailing -no toxins here!

January 14, 2009
MR Potato -very versatile
The Versatile

Mr. Potato

Your potato is good for a lot of things! Remember when it rains in the summer and your windshield wipers do a good job. Sometimes, unless you have them going full blast its really hard to see as the rain pounds down on your car. There is an interesting trick to help out. The ‘most’ interesting part of the story is that it ‘REALLY’ works. A friend of mine gave me a tip on keeping the windshield of your car clear during a rainy day, while you are driving. After you applied the potato magic to your car’s windshield, rather then all those beads of rain splattering here, there and everywhere, what happens is the the water “FLOWS” down the windshield. Your will see a remarkable difference as your visability is improved during a down pour. You can see better and relax while you are driving, instead of trying to white knuckle it all the way home; especially in heavy traffic. The rain glides right down your car’s windshield. Here’s the story -A salesman was driving across Ontario through all kinds of weather. A farmer told him how to manage on those rainy days of low visability. Ted, the salesman would slice a potato in half and rub half of the potato on the entire windshield of his car, during or before a potential down pour. When it rained, the rain would glide off his windshield and he had much better visibility. Back in the old days there were few chemical sprays. Think of it, you can be ‘organically’ cleaning your windows rather then contaminating the air with toxins.

An ounce of prevention

Missed Rust protection Treatment

Missed Rust protection Treatment

Rust protection coats the bottom of your car. The chemicals are sprayed inside the doors of your car as well. Not all auto service centers do the complete rust protection.  The consumer is at their mercy. Rust protection prevents your brake lines from rusting through.  Replacing brake lines can cost up to $2,000.  More importantly, you want your brakes to WORK! A collision can be devastating.  And, even more costly.   All service centers use different solutions. The professionals at The Auto Spa Ltd.  will educate you about proper rust protection.  Remember, Benjamin Franklin said it best,  “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.   For more tips on car care visit www.theautospa.ca.
